Koizumi Studio has designed a minimal-style boutique 'Plantation' in Ginza, the most luxury shopping district in Tokyo. Plantation was founded in 1982 and created timeless clothes made to fit into everyday life with authentic materials.

The designer Koizumi created the fitting room and strage as a core in one corner of the store, covering with hot rolled steel sheet, and the remaining space around the core was used as the shop. From the development of the Ginza store and the Aoyama store (opened in November 2019), they added iron as an interior material. This is because iron is a genuine material that fits with the brand concept.

Koizumi designed the checkout counter and the sofa as one unit so that customers can be served politely while taking up as little space as possible. The checkout counter, the benches by the windows, and the display table are made of Japanese cedar wood panels that show soft and natural texture. Besides, they painted the walls with sustainable plaster mixed with discarded paper.

The carefully selected warm raw materials and the stories behind them have made this store a beloved one.
